Hyehwa Theatre District (Day 10)

After Gwangjang Market, we hopped on a bus to Hyehwa, a vibrant theatre district frequented by youngsters.

The Hyehwa area is also famous for Naksan Park and Ihwa Mural Village which is similar to the Gamcheon village in Busan. We didn’t have time to explore the park or the village, and mainly explored the main shopping street.

Again, there are lots of food places and boutiques everywhere! It’s a nice place to visit as it is not as commercialised or as expensive than Myeongdong or Hongdae.

With our remaining cash, we splurged on cute stationery at 10x10, a multi-label stationery store that sells all kinds of cute things. They are great for bringing back as gifts for friends

10x10 is an awesome shop that sells very cute stuff like stationery, bags, household items etc
so cute!
wanna hug?

Since this was the last day of our trip and also because we haven't satisfied our craving for Korean BBQ yet, we finally visited a barbecue restaurant. It had an outdoor veranda and we could look onto the street below and people watch while we dined. Prices was also very affordable, about 10,000 KRW per person for a whole lotta meat!

Grill the meat then wrap in vegetables before gobbling!

After lunch, we headed to Hakrim Dabang, a retro-themed coffeeshop made famous by…guess what…”My Love From the Star”. It’s the coffeeshop where Do Min Joon meets up frequently with his confidante Lawyer Jang.

The coffeeshop has a very lovely atmosphere and the vibe there is exactly the same as in the drama series. The décor just evokes a feeling of nostalgia and the coffee smell is pretty intoxicating too that I couldn’t resist buying a bag of their beans home! You can get a 200g of the in-house Hakrim blend for 12,000 KRW.

super fancy mocha!

How to get there:

Hyehwa theatre district can also be conveniently reached using the subway station of the same name.
